The Quest by Strom Architecture won the RIBA South West Award 2017 and was shortlisted for RIBA House of the Year
This is a single-storey home for octogenarian clients and their disabled daughter, who handed the architect a two-page brief and said ‘get on with it’. The design provides flexible deep open plan living, with a fantastic view to the south west of the clients’ old farmhouse and surrounding hills. Extreme purity and intelligence has been at work and the result is an almost effortless sense of space.
