Development and extension of the existing gallery in rural East Hertfordshire. The gallery was originally converted from agricultural buildings 20 years ago, the development will provide state of the art facilities to run an extensive engagement programme alongside the permanent double height gallery and flexible exhibition spaces. Facilities will include workshops and creative areas, theatre style seating for lectures, a visitor rest and refreshment area and toilet facilities. The ethos of the project retains the buildings agricultural heritage and promotes construction methods which minimise impact on the site with an aspiration to be carbon net zero.
