The refurbishment and extension of both the reception and refectory areas of a complex 1960s building, this project for an inner city campus in London has provided enhanced student support facilities, new venues, social learning and academic spaces.

Women’s Pioneer Housing by Hawkins/Brown featured in Architect’s Journal in 1998
This passive low energy design created new office spaces and meeting rooms for the Women’s Pioneer Housing Association, constructed as an independent structure adjacent to the TfL Central Line and spanning over the existing buildings which remained in use throughout.
